Graston (Myofascial Release)

  • Graston Technique is an instrument assisted variation of traditional cross fiber or transverse friction massage

The surgical grade stainless steel tools have various sizes and contours to address different areas of the body

The tools have a beveled edge to actively break up fibrotic scar tissue and fascial restrictions, which assists in soft tissue mobilization

    • This decreases tightness, improves range of motion and blood flow, and decreases pain

    • 2 times a week for 3 weeks (or around 6 sessions, & must have at least 3 days off in between treatments)

      • More severe conditions may need closer to 12 treatment sessions (ex: postsurgical scar tissue and adhesions)

        • Many patients experience a significant and immediate reduction in their pain. Some patients will feel results gradually after each treatment

  • Include, But Not Limited To:

    • Tendinopathies- Achilles Tendonitis, Medial/Lateral Epicondylitis, Greater Trochanteric Bursitis, etc.
